>What are eyelash extensions?
Lash extensions are synthetic strands that are made to replicate a natural eyelash.
When applied, eyelash extensions lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes.
When you first arrive at your appointment, your lash extension stylist will conduct a
full eyelash consultation with you, walk you through the lash extension procedure and
help you choose a length and style that best reflects the look you are after. Single
lashes are applied with adhesive to each individual eyelash, one by one, to your
natural eyelashes for a truly natural and utterly flawless look.
How long does an eyelash extension appointment take?
The application process for eyelash extensions usually takes 11/2 - 2 hours. You
will lay comfortably in a recliner with your eyes closed. Relaxing music is played
while the professional lash technician applies your lashes. Your lower lashes will
be covered. The extensions will then be applied to your upper lashes, one at a time.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
When properly cared for, you can extend the life of your eyelash extensions up to 6
weeks. As your natural eyelashes shed, the lash extensions that are attached also
shed with the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. We recommend Mini-Fills or
Re-Lashes to fill in your lash extensions and maintain a beautiful, full set of
eyelashes indefinitely. Touch-ups take 45-60 minutes.
Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing Eyelash
Extensions?
Yes, the bonding agent used to apply your lash extensions is waterproof and allows
you to swim, shower, exercise, etc.
I wear contacts. Can I still wear extensions?
Yes, since the eyelash extensions do not touch your skin, they do not conflict or
interfere with your contacts or normal daily activities.
Are Lash Extensions safe?
Hey Gorgeous! Studio only uses pharmaceutical grade adhesive which generally never
comes in contact with your skin. Synthetic eyelashes are adhered about 1 mm away from
your skin.
Can I apply mascara to my eyelash extensions?
Mascara is not really required since the extensions actually give the illusion of
wearing mascara. In fact, one of the many benefits of eyelash extensions is that you
do not need to wear mascara. If you must use mascara, use one that is glycol and
carbonate-free. It is not recommended using mascara daily because just like any wear
and tear on the lashes, the more pulling and applying of a sticky substance, the more
likely it is to loosen the adhesive bond.
How do I choose the look that I want?
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of thicknesses and lengths. Your
technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are
interested in. The overall look of the lashes are very natural.
Before Getting your Extensions
Come with a clean, make-up free face if possible. Try to avoid mascara. Don’t
saturate the skin around your eyes with moisturizers or oils. Don’t curl or perm
your lashes since this will affect lash bonding and curl, and subsequently, the look.
After Getting your Extensions
With proper care, you lash extensions will last up to five (5) weeks! But more
importantly, we’re talking about your eyes here and you need to keep them healthy
and safe, no matter what. Keeping your extensions clean, and in top condition helps
towards that. Take caution when touching, handling or having contact with your eye
area.
Things You Can and Can't Do!
1. Immediately upon leaving your appointment you can shower, swim, go in the sauna
or do hot yoga.
2. Don't sleep on your face or on your eyes.
3. Curling of
eyelash extensions is not recommended. The extensions come pre-curled so additional
curling is not necessary and doing so may shorten the lifespan of the extensions.
4. Care must be taken not to rub eyes, or scratch. Also, any creams, eye makeup
removers, lotions, or cleansers containing glycol's or carbonates can loosen the bond
of Lash Extension adhesives.
5. Care must be taken to apply eye cream sparingly
with avoidance of the lash line area.
6. We suggest you use only mascara for
eyelash extensions on your extensions to blend in natural lashes with extensions
when a touch-up appointment is needed.
DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF
MASCARA OR EYELINER. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve
the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to
fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara. Only use a water
based eye makeup remover. Exercise caution when using cotton balls or buds, or even
when you're using any kind of fiber towel since these can catch on to your lashes and
inadvertently pull them out.
Recommendations
Use the LASH wand to brush your extensions every morning and night to reduce
tangling and flipping of the extensions.
